Organize by zone, not by category alone
Rather than grouping items purely by type, consider organizing cabinets around how you use the kitchen: a cooking zone near the stove, a prep zone near counters, and a serving zone near the table.
- Cooking zone: pots, pans, oils, and everyday spices near the stove
- Prep zone: cutting boards, mixing bowls, and small appliances near counters
- Serving zone: dishes and glassware near the dining area or dishwasher
Empty one cabinet at a time
Tackling the whole kitchen at once often leads to a half-finished project. Working through one cabinet or drawer fully before moving to the next keeps the process manageable.
Use the space you have more deliberately
Cabinet organizers are useful, but only after you've decided what belongs where. Lazy Susans, pull-out shelves, and stacking racks all solve different problems — measure your cabinets before buying any of them.
